Day 1: 2 Samuel 5

There were 5 years of civil war,but David acted honourably throughout. When he became king over all 12 tribes, he captured jerusalem as a neutral capital for the whole nation. His extra wives may have been a way of cementing alliances. He listened to God’s promptings and was an inventive general. his faith informed his behaviour, adn so was widely popular (apparently).
