Prophetic Leaders and the first King

Day 1:  Joshua 1: After the death of Moses the servant of the Lord, the Lord spoke to Joshua son of Nun, Moses’ assistant, saying, ‘My servant Moses is dead

Day 2: Joshua 6:  Now Jericho was shut up inside and out because of the Israelites; no one came out and no one went in.

Day 3: Judges 6, 7: The Israelites did what was evil in the sight of the Lord, and the Lord gave them into the hand of Midian for seven years.

Day 4:  1 Samuel 8, 10.20-24: When Samuel became old, he made his sons judges over Israel.

Day 5:  1 Samuel 17: Now the Philistines gathered their armies for battle; they were gathered at Socoh, which belongs to Judah, and encamped between Socoh and Azekah, in Ephes-dammim.

Day 6:  1 Samuel 18.6-11, 24: As they were coming home, when David returned from killing the Philistine, the women came out of all the towns of Israel, singing and dancing, to meet King Saul, with tambourines, with songs of joy, and with musical instruments.

Day 7:  2 Samuel 1: After the death of Saul, when David had returned from defeating the Amalekites, David remained two days in Ziklag.

Day 1:  2 Samuel 5:    Then all the tribes of Israel came to David at Hebron 

Day 2:  2 Samuel 6:  David again gathered all the chosen men of Israel  

Day 3:  2 Samuel 11-12:  In the spring of the year, the time when kings go out to battle, David sent Joab with his officers and all Israel with him  

Day 4:  1 Kings 1:  King David was old and advanced in years 

Day 5:  1 Kings 3:  Solomon made a marriage alliance with Pharaoh king of Egypt

Day 6:  1 Kings 8.1-40:  Then Solomon assembled the elders of Israel 

Day 7:  1 Kings 12:  Rehoboam went to Shechem

Divided kingdoms

Day 3:  2 Kings 5  Naaman, commander of the army of the king of Aram, was a great man

Day 4:  2 Kings 9-10:  Then the prophet Elisha called a member of the company of prophets

Day 5:  2 Kings 17.1-23:  In the twelfth year of King Ahaz of Judah, Hoshea son of Elah began to reign in Samaria over Israel

Day 6:  2 Kings 18 + 19.1-19, 35-end:  In the third year of King Hoshea son of Elah of Israel, Hezekiah son of King Ahaz of Judah began to reign.

Day 7:  2 Kings 23.1-23:  In the third year of King Hoshea son of Elah of Israel, Hezekiah son of King Ahaz of Judah began to reign

Exile and restoration

Day 6:  Daniel 6:  It pleased Darius to set over the kingdom one hundred and twenty satraps  

Day 7:  Daniel 7:  In the first year of King Belshazzar of Babylon, Daniel had a dream and visions of his head as he lay in bed
